Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with an exceptional experience. We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. At Bella Dental Care, we are sensitive to your needs, and it is our priority to make you feel comfortable while in our care.
Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health.
Your first appointment with us is a great opportunity for you to meet our caring team. At Bella Dental Care, we believe that a good foundation begins with a thorough exam so expect a comprehensive and educational experience. During your visit, we will spend time addressing your questions and concerns as we go through your medical and dental history together. We will take a full set of low dose, digital x-rays and intra-oral images that we can instantly enlarge and display to help you understand exactly what we see when we look in your mouth. We also will use the DIAGNOdent, a pain-free laser, that measures enamel density and helps to identify early tooth decay. Each new patient also receives an oral cancer screening using the VELScope, a special light that shows early changes in tissue that can lead to oral cancer. Our dental hygienist will complete a thorough periodontal evaluation by taking gentle measurements of gingival tissue to establish your level of gum health. At your first appointment, our dental hygienist will also perform a general cleaning and polish your teeth. After all the information is gathered, Dr. Marie Durflinger will review the findings and examine your mouth, head, neck and your bite. Because Dr. Durflinger wants all patients to understand exam findings, she takes the time to answer questions in a way that is easily comprehended and involves each patient in the co-diagnosis of their mouth. In some cases when extra time is needed, Dr. Durfligner or a qualified team member will reappoint the patient on a separate day to review treatment needs during a complimentary consultation. We want your first appointment with us to be a good experience that leads to a trusting relationship.
Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment:
